Jetro Web First Ever Sprint
Sept. 2, 2026
JetroWeb accomplished a great deal during this period, much of which is documented in greater detail on Jelkner's Web Blog 2026, This post, however, provides a summary of these experiences from JetroWeb’s perspective.
Jelkner arrived in Liberia on June 23, 2026. In preparation for his arrival, the JetroWeb team had planned a number of activities and arrangements. However, Jelkner’s approach was simple and practical. Rather than expecting elaborate preparations, he made it clear that he was comfortable working with what the team already had. As a result, many of the plans we had initially developed were adjusted or set aside.
Despite the changes to our original plans, we decided to organize a surprise welcome celebration for him. The preparation brought the entire team together, with everyone contributing to the effort. We purchased balloons, worked together on the decorations, and even followed online tutorials to help us prepare the space.
What began as a simple welcome became a memorable team experience. It gave us an opportunity to work together outside of our usual activities and to welcome Jelkner back to Liberia in a way that reflected the appreciation and respect we have for his continued mentorship and support of JetroWeb.
At the airport, we waited for Jeff’s arrival, which came later in the evening. Upon arriving, one of his first concerns was how we would get home, given the late hour. We assured him that transportation arrangements had already been made and that there was no need for concern.
Jeff’s arrival marked an important moment for our team. After two years apart, it was a pleasure to welcome him back in person and have the opportunity to reconnect. His return also provided an opportunity to strengthen the relationship that has continued to contribute to our team’s growth, learning, and development.
